Numerical Methods in Geosciences
The research group “Numerical Methods in Geosciences” focusses on solving relevant multi-scale geoscientific problems with methods of scientific computing and numerical analysis. We investigate the influence of small scale mixing at buildings or forest edges as well as the interaction of long tsunami waves with highly complex coastlines. We pass this knowledge to our students in lectures and courses as well as to the general public.
The team consists of master's and PhD students and scientists of diverse disciplines and nationalities. Such complicated problems can only be solved by collaboration in diverse groups. We publish our work in books, research articles and software codes.
