S. Popinet, CNRS directeur de recherche at Institut Jean le Rond d’Alembert of Sorbonne Université, Paris visited NumGeo group from May 21-22. He presented his work on multi-layer non-hydrostatic multi-scale flows simulations in the Lothar Collatz Colloquium of the (applied) Department of Mathematics, Universität Hamburg. In our group seminar and in informal discussions we elaborated on adaptive mesh refinement algorithms, applications of multi-layer non-hydrostatic flows such as landslide-induced tsunamis, computational efficiency of numerical algorithms, among others.
