(1) Eröffnet! Die DMV-Jahrestagung 2015 wurde gestern um 16 Uhr feierlich durch Dieter Lenzen, Präsident der Universität Hamburg, und Volker Bach, Präsident der DMV, eröffnet. Im Anschluß an unseren ersten Hauptvortrag von Alessandra Carbone zu One-dimensional and three-dimensional protein spaces and protein evolution zogen die Teilnehmer in einem von einem roten Regenschirm geführten Zug zum Rathaus der Freien und Hansestadt Hamburg, wo sie durch Senatorin Katharina Fegebank, die Zweite Bürgermeisterin der Stadt, festlich begrüßt wurden. Musikalisch begleitet wurden die Festakte durch den Chor Belcanto, welcher mit Stücken von Brahms, di Lasso und Mendelssohn Bartholdy bezauberte.

(1) We have started! The congress DMV 2015 was ceremoniously opened at 4pm yesterday by Professor Dieter Lenzen, president of the Universität Hamburg, and Professor Volker Bach, president of the DMV. After our first keynote lecture by Alessandra Carbone (entitled One-dimensional and three-dimensional protein spaces and protein evolution) our participants followed a red umbrella in a walk through the city centre to City Hall where they were warmly greeted by Senator Katharina Fegebank, deputy mayor of the city of Hamburg. The two welcome events were musically framed by the choir Elbcanto who enchanted the participants with pieces by Brahms, di Lasso, and Mendelssohn Bartholdy.

(2) Hauptvortrag Sandstede. Leider ist unser Hauptvortragender Björn Sandstede erkrankt und konnte nicht nach Hamburg reisen. Wir wünschen ihm gute Genesung! Heute nachmittag von 17:45 bis 18:45 wird stattdessen Günter Ziegler einen deutschsprachigen Vortrag über das Projekt Panorama der Mathematik halten.

(2) Keynote lecture Sandstede. Unfortunately, our keynote speaker Björn Sandstede is ill and couldn't travel to Hamburg. We wish him all the best for a speedy recuperation! In his slot (today, 5:45pm to 6:45pm), Günter Ziegler will give a presentation (in German) about the project Panorama der Mathematik.

(4) Lehrertag. Heute hat der Lehrertag unter der Schirmherrschaft von Herrn Senator Ties Rabe angefangen. Über vierzig Lehrer nehmen an der DMV-Jahrestagung, insbesondere den didaktischen Mini-Symposien #1 & #39 und der Sektion Didaktik & Geschichte der Mathematik, teil.

(4) Teachers' Day. Today, the Teachers' Day has started under the auspices of Senator Ties Rabe. Over 40 teachers participate in our congress, in particular in the maths education mini-symposia #1 & #39 and the Section Mathematics Education & History of Mathematics.
