I am a member of the management committee of the Collaborative Research Center Higher Structures, moduli spaces and integrability, a PI in the Cluster of Excellence Quantum Universe, and spokesperson for the Mathematisches Seminar der Universität Hamburg. At the Department of Mathematics I am an equal opportunity representative and serve as ERASMUS international exchance coordinator.

Since 2024 our group is hosting the international mathematical competition Náboj in Hamburg. In 2024 it was held on April 19. The next date is 14.03.2025.

Our group also manages the multimedia studio at the department of mathematics.

Research

My research interest are in low-dimensional topology and representation theory. Two focus points have been the development of functorial homology theories for knots and links, and the exploration of their deep connections to (higher) representation theory and mathematical physics. I also enjoy applying topological and combinatorial tools to solve problems in representation theory.

An outline of main aspects of my research programme appears in this recorded talk at the Simons Foundation in March 2025.
