Holonomy Groups and Applications in String Theory

Workshop at University of Hamburg

The purpose of the workshop is to bring together physicists and mathematicians working in related areas of differential geometry and theoretical physics. The main focus will we be on holonomy groups and special geometric structures and their applications in string theory.

On Monday at 10 am, after registration, we start with the
 
Opening Lecture by Prof. Marcel Berger: "Holonomy Groups from 1924 to 1955".

The workshop takes place at the Department of Mathematics, University of Hamburg in the  GEOMATIKUM, Bundesstrasse 55, 20146 Hamburg, in the lecture halls H1, H2, and H4, which are located on the ground floor. The registration will be in front of these on Monday, July 14, between 9 and 10 am. The lecture halls are equipped with large blackboards, slide and data projectors.
