Practical Information

Conference Venue

The Colloquium Logicum 2016 will be held in the main building of the Universität Hamburg, Edmund-Siemers-Allee 1 (ESA 1) in Hamburg. On Saturday, all talks will take place in Hörsaal C. On Sunday and Monday, most talks will take part in Hörsaal J; the parallel sessions will also take place in Hörsaal H and Hörsaal K.

Getting there by public transport

Hamburg Dammtor is the railway station closest to the conference venue. Buses M4, M5, 34 and 109, S-Bahn S11, S21 and S31 and some trains stop at Dammtor. From there you can reach the conference venue by crossing the Edmund-Siemers-Allee.

Arrival by train (from Hauptbahnhof) Many trains stopping at Hauptbahnhof also stop at Dammtor. If yours does not, change at Hauptbahnhof into the S-Bahn S11 (heading towards Altona/Othmarschen/Blankenese), S21 (heading towards Eidelstedt) or S31 (heading towards Altona/Pinneberg). Dammtor is the first stop after Hauptbahnhof.

Arrival by plane (from Hamburg airport). Take S-Bahn S1 (heading towards Altona/Wedel) to Hamburg Central Station (Hauptbahnhof). There, change to S-Bahn S11 (heading towards Altona/Othmarschen/Blankenese), S21 (heading towards Eidelstedt) or S31 (heading towards Altona/Pinneberg). Dammtor is the first stop after Hauptbahnhof.

Arrival by car. Please note that it is not easy to find parking space near the conference venue; therefore we recommend that you use one of the Park+Ride facilities around Hamburg (an overview of which can be found here) and enter the city via public transport.

Accommodation

Hamburg is not a cheap place to stay. Nevertheless, the standard hotel booking sites such as booking.com find a number of cheap places to stay, some of them under € 50 per night.

For students, youth hostels might be an option where standard accommodation is in shared multi-bed rooms. Hamburg has two youth hostels: Jugendherberge "Auf dem Stintfang" (30 minutes walking distance; 20 minutes by public transport) and Jugendherberge Horner Rennbahn (30 minutes by public transport).

The Dammtorpalais is a building right next to the conference venue that contains five hotels: the Hotel Amsterdam, the Hotel Bellmoor, the Hotel Fresena, the Hotel Preuss, and the Hotel Wagner. Many of them might already be fully booked, but it is not impossible that they still have some rooms for some of the nights.

Apart from that you might try to book accommodation in one of the following hotels:
