Travel grants for students.
The conference Cultures of Mathematics IV is supported by the Indo-European Research Training Network in Logic
(IERTNiL) and by the International Association for
Science and Cultural Diversity (IASCUD). IERTNiL is funded by the Universities of Amsterdam and Hamburg on
the European side and the Institute for Mathematical Sciences on the Indian side. The European and Indian
institutions funding IERTNiL as well as IASCUD are providing travel grants for students and junior researchers
to attend the conference Cultures of Mathematics IV.
All students (including undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students) and recent PhDs (PhD in 2013 or
2014; no permanent academic job) are eligible to receive IERTNiL or IASCUD travel grants. For students
travelling from Europe, we can offer travel allowances of € 250; for students travelling from India, we can
offer travel allowances of ₹ 5,000 (reimbursement will be made on the basis of actual costs with original
receipts).
If you are interested in receiving one of these IERTNiL/IASCUD travel grants, please apply by sending the
following information to bloewe(at)science(dot)uva(dot)nl either in the body text of an e-mail or as a
single pdf attachment (do not send multiple attachments or Word files):
- Your name, e-mail address, and affiliation.
- Your academic CV, including details about your studies, your
degrees, your prizes, and your publications.
- A short letter of motivation explaining why you want to go to the
conference.
- A letter of reference from a senior academic (can be sent directly
by the professor).
The deadline for submission of applications is the 7th of December 2014.
