Summer School: Algebraic Structures in Quantum Field Theory
August 26-30, 2019
Hamburg
Over the last decades, advances in higher category theory have led to a comprehensive framework of
"higher-dimensional" algebraic structures, ready to be utilized in mathematial and physical
applications.
This summer school, aimed at PhD students and postdocs, will provide an introduction to some of the
most recent developments related to E_n-algebras, factorization algebras, and their integration
theory, with a view towards the fruitful interaction with quantum field theory.
The school poster is available here .
List of speakers and topics:
Owen Gwilliam (University of Massachusetts, Amherst) Holomorphic field theories and their symmetries
David Jordan (University of Edinburgh) A unified quantization of character varieties from factorization
homology
Mikhail Kapranov (Kavli IPMU, University of Tokyo) Factorization algebras in algebraic geometry
Claudia Scheimbauer (TU München, NTNU Trondheim) E_n-algebras in mathematical physics
Masahito Yamazaki (Kavli IPMU, University of Tokyo) Integrability and perturbative quantum field theory
