Hermes - from TeX to MathML
von Romeo Anghelache
(Max-Planck-Institut für Gravitationsphysik Potsdam)
Der Vortrag wird in Englisch gehalten
Content of the talk:
TeX is the print format most frequently used in mathematics,
physics, and other scientific disciplines. But TeX and the PDF
and PS files that are generated from a TeX source provide
only limited functionalities for the presentation on the Web. MathML is a XML language to present mathematical content
on the Web. But it is expensive and error-prone to create MathML
encoded documents manually.
HERMES is a tool to convert TeX files to MathML automatically.
HERMES is a prototype. The talk gives an overview about the HERMES
concept and lists the open problems that are to be solved.
