Third Announcement

Conference office
The conference will take place at the "Universität der Bundeswehr", Holstenhofweg 85, 22043 Hamburg. The university is situated in the eastern part of Hamburg.

Meeting point and conference office are in the "Mensa"-building in room "Senatssaal". In case you have difficulties locating the building (the facade is entirely made of glass), the guard posted at the main entrance to the campus will assist you. Conference office will open on Sunday, July 27, at 15.00 h. Phone-number at the conference office is 040-6541-3353. Accommodation will already be available on Saturday.

Opening Session
The opening session of the conference will be on Monday, July 28, 9.30 a.m. A detailed program is handed out on arrival.

Every session talk is given a time-slot of 30 minutes (= 20 min talk + 5 min discussion + 5 min break before next talk).

An excursion is planned for Wednesday. For accompanying persons we offer an additional program.

How to get there
We will try to organize a direct transfer from the airport respectively train station (Hamburg Hauptbahnhof) to "Universität der Bundeswehr". In order to be picked up e-mail us as soon as possible

• whether you come by plane or train
• exact time of your arrival
• city of your departure
• flight-number and airline.

Especially if you arrive before Sunday, it is quite vital that we get the above information in order to meet you and get you accommodated.

At the airport we will meet you in the arrivals lounge of terminal 4 (all national and international flights - except charter flights - arrive there). Please look out for someone with a sign that says "Nearrings".

If you come by train, please get off at Hamburg Hauptbahnhof (= main station). We will meet you at the top of the northern stairs that lead up from the platform your train arrives at (again, there will be someone with a sign that says "Nearrings"). If by any chance we miss each other, please wait in McDonald's restaurant, we will pick you up there. McDonald's is in the northern hall ("Wandelhalle") of the "Hauptbahnhof", on the first floor. The yellow McDonald's sign is easily spotted from the platforms.

If you come by car
Get on to motorway A 24 at "Autobahnkreuz Hamburg Ost", then take the exit "Hamburg-Jenfeld" from A 24 and immediately turn north on to "Schiffbeker Weg", then left into "Rodigallee" (third street on the left) and left again into "Holstenhofweg" where the main entrance to "Universität der Bundeswehr" is located.

If you use public transport

From Hamburg Hauptbahnhof (main station)
Get off the train at Hamburg Hauptbahnhof (=main station). Take bus no. 35 in the direction of "Rahlstedt" and get off at bus stop "Universität der Bundeswehr". The bus stop at the main station is in "Mönckebergstraße": Take the southern stairs ("Südsteg") that lead up from the platform, turn right at the top and go on through the tunnel. At the end of the tunnel, just across the street, in front of the department store "Kaufhof" there is the bus stop. You can buy your ticket (EUR 3,35) on the bus. Last bus at 23.03 h.

Alternatively, from main station take the underground U1 in the direction of "Wandsbek, Ohlstedt / Großhansdorf" (blue line) to the station "Wandsbek Markt", change there to bus no. 10 or 163 (both services start at "Wandsbek Markt") or bus no. 35 in the direction of "Rahlstedt" and get off at bus stop "Universität der Bundeswehr". Buy your ticket at one of the vending-machines in the underground ("Fahrkarten"); for a single ride press the orange colored button "3" (EUR 2,30). Besides coins the vending-machines accept 5- and 10-EUR-notes and they usually give change. If from "Wandsbek Markt" you take bus no. 35 ("Schnellbus" / rapid service) you will have to pay an additional fare of EUR 1,05. Last connection from main station at 0.27 h.

From the airport
At the airport, take bus no. 39 (in the direction of "Wandsbek Markt") to the stop "Wandsbek Markt" (about 30 minutes), change there to bus no. 10 or 163 (both services start at "Wandsbek Markt") or bus no. 35 in the direction of "Rahlstedt" and get off at bus stop "Universität der Bundeswehr". The bus stop at the airport is about 50 meters to the left of the exit of terminal 4, behind the taxi stand. You can buy your ticket (EUR 3,35) on the bus.

By taxi
From the airport to "Universität der Bundeswehr" a taxi costs about 30 EUR, from the main station about 17 EUR.
