Singularity categories and Schur functors

Abstract: In this talk, I will first recall the definitions of the singularity categories of rings and schemes. Then I will try to survey the central results and some recent achievements on singularity categories. At the end I will show that Schur functors play a role in the description of the singularity categories of certain non-Gorenstein rings.
