Registration & extra packages.

1. The registration fee for the conference will be € 60 (or 75 US$ or 500 CNY), payable in cash at the conference desk. The registration fee does not include lunches or dinners.
2. We are offering a meals package covering breakfast, lunch and dinner at the ZiJinYuan Restaurant for all four days for 500 CNY per person.
3. In the afternoon of 11 September, we are organizing an excursion (precise plans not yet known) with a banquet in an upscale restaurant. The excursion is not included in the registration fee, but an excursion & banquet package can be booked for 600 CNY.
4. We have reserved rooms for our participants with a special discount at the New Pearl River Hotel (20 minutes walking distance from the conference site). This is also the hotel where the invited speakers will be staying. Conference participants can book a standard room for a special price of 330 CNY per night. In order to get the special rate, please book via the conference organizers and pay at the hotel when you check in.

Guangzhou, known historically as Canton, is located in southern China on the Pearl River, about 120 km north-northwest of Hong Kong. With over 12 million inhabitants, it is the third largest city in China (after Shanghai and Beijing) and the largest city of southern China. In the month of November, expected temperatures are between 15 and 24 degrees. Baiyun International Airport is a major transportation hub with many national and international airlines (for instance, Air France, China Southern Airlines, Emirates, Lufthansa, etc.). In addition, Guangzhou is easy to reach from Hong Kong with its international airport.

Visa Information. For foreign participants, please contact the nearest Chinese Embassy/Consulate to apply for a visa. You can apply either for a TOURIST visa or for a BUSINESS/CONFERENCE visa. The former tends to be easier to get (however, it might be that the embassy requires proof of hotel and flight booking from you); the latter requires a letter of invitation. You will get this official invitation letter from the local organizers after you register. Please check with your local embassy/consulate for the details of visa application since they depend on the policies of the individual embassies. If you plan to travel to/via Hong Kong or Macau, the Tourist visa is also sufficient, but please note that going from Hong Kong or Macau to mainland China counts as entering the country, so a trip from Guangzhou to Hong Kong and back will use up one entry of your visa.

How to get here.

• From the Airport to the New Pearl River Hotel.
  1. Shuttle Bus. There are different lines of shuttle bus at the Airport, one of which just goes from the airport to the New Pearl River Hotel. All the shuttle buses are waiting outside of the airport exit; please find and take the bus of Line 6. This line is bound for the New Pearl River Hotel, so you just arrive at the hotel when you get off at the terminal stop. It takes you about 50 minutes, and the price will be 25 CNY.

     Please note that the shuttle bus does not run after 23:00.

  2. Taxi. You can also take a taxi after getting out of the airport exit, it will take you directly to the hotel. Normally, taxis are waiting on the other side of the road, so you might need to walk a little to find them. It costs about 45 minutes, and the price is around 150 CNY. Please print out and use the following address as the instruction for drivers:
     

• From the Railway Station to the New Pearl River Hotel.

  We suggest you take a taxi from the railway station to the hotel directly. It's about half an hour and will cost about 40 CNY.

  Another option is to take the metro: from Guangzhou East Railway Station take line 3 to Ke Cun, change to line 8 to Lu Jiang. There, leave via Exit B to the left and walk down Shandu Road: the hotel is located at the end of the road.

• From the New Pearl River Hotel to the conference site.

  All the sections of our conference will be held in the second floor of Liang Qiu Ju Hall, which is located inside the campus of Sun Yat-sen University. When you get out the hotel, just turn right, and go straight along the street. About 8-10 minutes walking, you will get to the North Gate of Sun Yat-sen University, then please enter our university, and go straight along the road. About another 8-10 minutes walking, you will find Liang Qiu Ju Hall on your right. Here is a map (click here for a larger image):
