Ricci flow, mean curvature flow and related singular flows

This 4-day workshop is addressed to graduate students and researchers in geometric analysis and differential geometry. It will mainly focus on geometric flows on smooth and singular manifolds and related topics such as Ricci solitons.

The workshop is funded by the SPP 2026 "Geometry at infinity" and by the Research Training Group 1670 "Mathematics inspired by String Theory and Quantum Field Theory".

The lectures will start on Monday, September 3, at 2:30 pm (registration will be possible from 1:30 am to 2:30 am), and end on Thursday, September 6, at 12:30 pm. Courses will take place at the Department of Mathematics, Bundesstraße 55. Please follow the link to obtain detailed information on how to get there.

On Tuesday evening at 7 pm, there will be a conference dinner. The dinner cost will be 26,50 Euro.

Accommodation:

Due to an international trade fair that takes place in the same week, a lot of hotels are already fully booked and we recommend to book as early as possible. To find an appropriate accommodation, we suggest to search via the following websites: booking.com, HRS, Airbnb. Alternatively, a few rooms are avaiable at the DESY hostel from Sep 3-6. You can book a room by using the registration form and inserting the keyword "Ricci flow" in the field "DESY group".
